idol wednesdays: top 3

OMG…how much longer will this show drag on?  I swear two years ago they had a season finale with four people on stage and just did the deed there.  Look, I’m excited to finally see Crystal, Casey and Lee go mano y mano y mano, but do we need to have another week of this?  I don’t think so.  Whatever Ryan.  Let’s get on with the show.

Casey’s first song is by Eric Hutchinson “Ok It’s Alright With Me.”  It wasn’t THAT bad.  Cute song, but didn’t showcase his great talent.

Crystal chose “Come to My Window” by Melissa Ethridge.  Kind of a predictable song for Crystal.  I’m so over this song that if I don’t hear it for another 10 years that would be a good thing, but she did a good job with it (as she always does) in her busker-coffeehouse kinda way.

Lee DeWyze performed “Simple Man” originally done by Lynyrd Skynyrd and tore it up.  Simon called it early on in the competition that he was the dark horse.  Well, he actually has a shot at the title.  I’m just wondering how many people in the audience actually know who Lynyrd Skynyrd is.  Yet they are still cheering for Lee.  Yeah Lee!

Judges choice for Casey is John Mayer’s “Daughters.”  Something about this choice struck my funny bone.  Besides that I think he did a great version of the song in the abbreviated Idol kind of way.

Ellen chose “Maybe I’m Amazed” by Paul McCartney for Crystal.  She puts herself in every song and I just eat it up.  I really like her even when she doesn’t have her guitar.  There’s just something about that girl.

Lee’s selection from Simon is “Hallelujah” originally from Leonard Cohen, but mostly known by Jeff Buckley…good choice Simon.  With that performance he could win it.

The night by my estimate and the judges goes to Lee.  In my pool, I’m still holding strong for Crystal, but I wouldn’t be sad if Lee wins.  Tonight I definitely think that cutie-pahtootie Casey will be leaving us.  And really, he’s pretty to look at and has talent, but what I really want to know is what product the stylists have been using on his hair.  Sorry to let the pretty face go, but it is time.  And now to the last two standing.  Cheers!

I’m with you- Casey is beautiful, but someone has to go and I think tonight will be his last night. They’ll all have successful careers, so let’s get on with it!

Agreed. I look forward to hearing Casey live in a small venue rocking it out. I don’t think after this season anyone is going to remember who really won. All 3 are good and will have lukewarm careers.

I tried to comment on your site, but it wouldn’t verify my OpenID. What I wanted to say was, well done on your recap or random review or whatever you’re gonna call it. You’re from Texas…(now read with your best TX accent) You need to brush up on your Lynyrd Skynyrd, gurl. That’s good ‘ol Southern Rock. P.S. I grew up in Lewisville, TX so I feel that I can say that. :) Thanks for stopping by and commenting!
