Last chance belly dance. Hard to believe that both of the final contestants of this year’s American Idol are both only 24 years old. Holy cow that’s young. They both are going to have a great time for many years to come. As the last performance night of the season, there are three rounds in tonight’s show. Will tonight produce a KO with the consistent champ Crystal or will the dark horse Lee knock her down?

Lee DeWyze went first and chose “The Boxer” as his choice for favorite song this season. I think he was a bit off in the beginning, which is inconceivable at this point in the show, but whatever. I feel like this season has lacked polish all around anyway. The crowd goes wild and I pour myself some more wine. I think next year I’m gonna call my posts Idol & Wine. They go so good together.

Crystal Bowersox chose “Me & Bobby McGee” for her first song. I think she’s probably sang this song in coffee houses 100 times over so it comes off really easy and good for her. But that’s just her all over, isn’t? Her talent is so easy and good.

The second song for Lee was “Everybody Hurts” chosen by the executive producer. I can’t wait for Lee to get a little polished after making an album and working with some great people. He’s just a little raw. I like him, always have, but look forward to what he’ll come out with later. Eh.

“Black Velvet” was Crystal’s second song also chosen by the executive producer of the show. Ok, let me (sadly) start out saying that I’m not sure if it was my TV or if Crystal looked really wide in that dress. It was distracting, so I had to get that out of the way (sorry). Outside of that, the girl can belt it out and I really liked that song for her. Damn that was good.

Lee’s last song was “Beautiful Day.” This song made me think, has U2 ever been on Idol (other than Idol Gives Back)? It was good, but I’m not jumping out of my seat for him. He’s gonna do fine, but he’s not going to win. (sorry Lee) Although he should win most improved. Cheers!

“Up to the Mountain” was Crystal’s last song and the one that she will release if she wins. The girl is soulful and honest and has been since Day 1 of this competition. She is outstanding as Simon said.

I think that Crystal is the obvious choice, but it’s really the people who call in. We’ll see tonight. All in all I think this season has been a little lackluster, but that may be due to the recovery of Glambert. Sadly, I’m not going to win my Idol Watchers pool as I picked Lilly to win. Crystal was my second choice, but Lilly got the boot too early. I look forward to seeing the winners all around and am really excited for this season of So You Think You Can Dance. Cheers friends!

OMG…how much longer will this show drag on? I swear two years ago they had a season finale with four people on stage and just did the deed there. Look, I’m excited to finally see Crystal, Casey and Lee go mano y mano y mano, but do we need to have another week of this? I don’t think so. Whatever Ryan. Let’s get on with the show.

Casey’s first song is by Eric Hutchinson “Ok It’s Alright With Me.” It wasn’t THAT bad. Cute song, but didn’t showcase his great talent.

Crystal chose “Come to My Window” by Melissa Ethridge. Kind of a predictable song for Crystal. I’m so over this song that if I don’t hear it for another 10 years that would be a good thing, but she did a good job with it (as she always does) in her busker-coffeehouse kinda way.

Lee DeWyze performed “Simple Man” originally done by Lynyrd Skynyrd and tore it up. Simon called it early on in the competition that he was the dark horse. Well, he actually has a shot at the title. I’m just wondering how many people in the audience actually know who Lynyrd Skynyrd is. Yet they are still cheering for Lee. Yeah Lee!

Judges choice for Casey is John Mayer’s “Daughters.” Something about this choice struck my funny bone. Besides that I think he did a great version of the song in the abbreviated Idol kind of way.

Ellen chose “Maybe I’m Amazed” by Paul McCartney for Crystal. She puts herself in every song and I just eat it up. I really like her even when she doesn’t have her guitar. There’s just something about that girl.

Lee’s selection from Simon is “Hallelujah” originally from Leonard Cohen, but mostly known by Jeff Buckley…good choice Simon. With that performance he could win it.

The night by my estimate and the judges goes to Lee. In my pool, I’m still holding strong for Crystal, but I wouldn’t be sad if Lee wins. Tonight I definitely think that cutie-pahtootie Casey will be leaving us. And really, he’s pretty to look at and has talent, but what I really want to know is what product the stylists have been using on his hair. Sorry to let the pretty face go, but it is time. And now to the last two standing. Cheers!

Lee DeWyze “Kiss from a Rose” – Lee’s certainly smiling more, which is great to see. However, I wasn’t blown away by the song and neither was Simon or Randy. That’s tough for him because I want to see him in the finale.

Big Mike “Will You Be There?” – I didn’t love it. I thought he didn’t think it was the right song either. Something really bothered me about the gospel angle. Personally, I want Big Mike to go, but it’s not just up to me.

Crystal & Lee “Falling Slowly” – What a great song choice for them. If you’ve never seen the quiet and beautiful movie, “Once,” please watch it. It’s incredibly touching. Every time I hear this song I can’t escape thinking of that lovely little movie. And yes, they did a great job together.

Casey James “Mrs. Robinson” – I thought he did ok with the song, but the judges were mixed. What I wanted to hear more was why he chose this song and put him on the hot seat to get more of the back story. But instead Kara had to bat her eye lashes and make it about her. Sometimes, please just be quiet and not be provoked by the guys so much, Kara! My fingers are crossed for Casey. Stay Casey stay and feel free to seduce me more (Jamie coached him into seducing the camera, which works for me)

Crystal Bowersox “I’m All Right” – She’s the only contestant that mixed up their song. She did a great job and I didn’t even think of Kenny Loggins once. She’s a great performer and I hope she wins. However I’m a little perplexed about what would happen if Crystal won and she gets Idolized. Will she still be the same? Would America care?

Casey & Mike “Have You Ever Really Loved a Woman?” – So good! Nice guitar playing and really put their hearts in the song. I loved the mix of their two styles. It was done right.

Best performance of the night was most definitely the duets, but individually Crystal. I wasn’t blown away tonight as I would expect the show before the season finale. But that’s what you get for this lack luster season and the post-Glambert high from last. I’m sticking with my Top 3: Crystal, Casey and Lee (who I adopted since Lilly has left). Sorry Big Mike. You’re good, but not that good. I still can’t escape my vision of you on a cruise ship or fancy hotel night club. I look forward to Idol & Wine tonight even though I think it may be a bit uneventful. (stay Casey stay!)

Aaron Kelly “Fly Me to the Moon” – Aaron was super smiley tonight. I think he felt like he did a great job and he did. He really belt out the tune and put himself in it. I agree with Simon, Aaron tries really hard and you want to like him for that. So good job, but I’m not voting for him. Grow some hair on your chest.

Casey James “Blue Skies” – Well, let me just start by saying the crowd really liked it. The judges REALLY didn’t like it. He was simply out of his element, no guitar and holding his mike. His talent simply did not translate into this genre. I’m really worried for Casey. He will definitely be in the Bottom 3.

Crystal Bowersox “Summer Wind” – Some people can rise above and some will sink below. Crystal has such great versatility and does so well with every performance. It was a sweet love song. It didn’t knock my socks off, but she will kept her seat.

Big Mike “Just the Way You Are” – Ok, look he did the best so far. Clearly he has sung this song at weddings, jazz clubs or on the cruise ships he’s been on. I just don’t see him recording this or being a big star. Basically, he’s still a nice performance on my fancy pretend date night at a high end hotel jazz club. I’m hoping that he’ll be going home this week.

Lee DeWyze “That’s Life” – I personally liked Lee’s performance the best. It was very authentic, classy and bluesy all at the same time. He’s even smiling more, which is so incredibly appealing. Way to go Lee! Kara told him to write down 100 times “I can win this! I can win this!” The dark horse can win it. It wouldn’t be good for my Idol Watcher picks (in my Idol pool I picked Crystal to win), but I still like him very much.

For sure, Lee did the best last night and I think that he is safe. The Bottom 3 is tricky. I’m hoping that Casey’s fans will out-vote Mike’s fans (hell, I called 10 times last night for Casey. I’d really like for him to be in the Top 3). I think that Big Mike will (finally) go home even though he had a good performance last night, Casey will be sweating bullets, and Aaron (darn it!) will sit back down. I think that my picks are a long shot, since Casey really blew it last night, but I’m hoping his fans will prevail. Did you call last night? Cheers friends, looking forward to the results show.

Shania Twain is this week’s mentor and contestants are choosing songs from her songbook. How did she land that gig? Honestly, I know probably 2 of her songs. So I’m interested to see how they do.

Lee Dewyze “You’re Still the One” – Lee kicks off the show with one of the songs that I actually recognize. Vocally he didn’t hit it all the way, but potentially he could record that song. He certainly made it his own with his big rock vocals and by golly, he smiled (which I like). Did he get laid this week? He looks a bit more relaxed and easy going.

Big Mike “It Only Hurts When I’m Breathing” – A nice soulful, R&B interpretation of what I imagine to be a country slow song. I wasn’t crazy about it. Ballads are just not my thing (for the most part). Ellen likened the performance to a Luther Vandross song. Simon said it was a “bit wet.” I get it – kinda drippy, emotional, soggy, maybe a touch soppy. Mike is close to the bottom and he didn’t exactly hit it out of the park, therefore you can count him in the Bottom 3.

Casey James “Don’t” – It really irritates me when contestants sit on that mini-curved stage behind the judges so they are back to back. I think that it’s rude. Outside of that, Casey sang really well and he potentially has a hit on his hands. That was good. Really good. The judges thought that it was his best this season. I couldn’t imagine Shania singing that song, it just sounded like something that would/will be on his first cd. Good timing because I want him in the Top 3. Man, he’s so cute. Ugh. I could look at him all day and night.

Crystal Bowersox “No One Needs to Know” – The song was a cute little ditty. I liked it. It didn’t blow me away, but she’s just in a whole different class than the rest. I still think that we should just give her the contract right now and call it a day. I like what Kara said about her, “It’s kinda impossible for you not to be good. Cuz you always come from a place of truth and it always feels honest. It was believable and that’s why I always respond to you.” Agreed girlfriend. Simon thought it lacked conviction. Mamasox retorted that “bigger isn’t always better.” <ahem to Simon>

Aaron Kelly “You Got Away” – Shania gave him some really good heart-felt coaching. The little dude has a great voice; I’ll give him that. I just don’t want to hear it until after he gets some hair on his chest and he’s out of range to be on a Disney channel show. I hate to admit it, but it was a great performance. Again I agree with Simon, Aaron’s performance felt sincere. Aww, he was singing to his mom. Damn, he’ll be around another week.

Siobhan “Any Man of Mine” – ooh, I know this song! It’s a feisty song. And she didn’t carry it. Her voice was too deep for it and the tempo I thought was off. And then she screamed again and held the note too long on the end. This girl is all tricks. Maybe I’m gonna start calling her Trixy. I don’t think she’s gonna make it this week. She’s my call to go home. The judges liked it. I don’t get it.

I’m going to hold on to my Top 3 picks: Crystal (to win), Casey and Lee (I adopted Lee since Lilly went home). Therefore the Bottom 3 I’m predicting will be: Siobhan (to go home), Big Mike (to hang on another week) and Aaron (to sit down first). There you have it. Cheers!

Casey James “Don’t Stop” (Fleetwood Mac) – Great opener. Casey was really in it and played his guitar well. The judges didn’t really go for it because Casey is in his zone and doing great in his blues rock vibe. They always want more from him. I’m calling in my votes because I want him to go all the way. <ahem>

Lee Dewyze “The Boxer” (Simon & Garfunkel) – I felt like Lee grumbled the first part of the lyrics, but he did a good job through the rest. He’s so serious and I love when he finally gives us a glimpse of a smile. The judges really went for it.

Tim Urban “Better Days” (Goo Goo Dolls) – Alicia thought that it could have been his own song. I think he’s finally hitting his stride. He’s not on par with the rest, but he is holding his own, which is a low bar. It is time.

Aaron Kelly “I Believe I Can Fly” (R. Kelly) – He’s just too much for me. It’s like high school dramatics class all over. He’s a lead in a performing choir. I like Glee, but I don’t like Aaron. He hits the big notes and I want to dry heave. I really don’t like the audience waving their hands, but of course they would. I’m so over him and those stupid little jackets the stylists put him in. Will he be next on the block? Please oh please. Oh. Please.

Siobhan “When You Believe” (Mariah Carey/Whitney Houston) – Of all the funky outfits that girl has worn I have to say this one was the most cohesive and cool. Outside of that, she’s taking on the Divas, which the judges never go for. I think she flubbed a part of it, but it was right before the big belting part of the song so no one will remember it. Yeah, she can hit big notes and she’s talented, but I don’t like that kind of music; it puts me to sleep. The judges were lukewarm on her performance. She’s getting close to the end of her ride.

Michael Lynche “Hero” (Chad Kroeger of Nickelback fame and the song from the Spiderman soundtrack) – yeah, baby Michael has an Idol playbook of songs that he’s been preparing for two years. That’s what I’m talking about. Smart man. That just moved him up a notch in my book. Sadly, the song choice was too much outside of his genre to make it great. He did okay and will be around for another week. BTW, he looked really big this week and the stylist needs to put a jacket back on him. That camera back shot was all wrong.

Crystal Bowersox “People Get Ready” (The Impressions) – Alicia Keyes loved it. Crystal didn’t have an instrument and the girl looked good in a low cut black dress. She knocked the performance out of the park and then lost it at the end with tears. She was the only inspiring and touching performance of the night. Kara called her by her nickname “Mamasox” and told her that she just “schooled all those contestants.” Amen. She rocks.

Okay, clearly the best performance of the night (by light years) was Crystal. Duh. I predict the Bottom 3 for this week will be Tim to finally go home, Aaron to be next on the block, and Siobhan to be the first to sit down. Inspired much? No not really. Cheers friends.

Crystal Bowersox “Saved” – Shake those dreads, girl. Well, she did, but not too much. However, she did play the electric guitar and belt out a great gospel-bluesy Elvis tune. Solid performance and a great way to kick off the show.

Andrew Garcia “Hound Dog” – Andrew’s one step to Idol goodness was making a cheesy song cool with “Straight Up.” He’s now only been able to make good songs cheesy. He did a loungey rumba-like rendition with no swagger. This will be his last performance.

Tim Urban “Can’t Help Falling in Love” – Showing his romantic side and playing his acoustic guitar really well probably will save his young ass one more time. I can’t believe that I’m saying this, but it was good. Simon said, “from zero to hero in two weeks.” He’ll be safe this week.

Lee Dewyze “A Little Less Conversation” – A good solid, rock-blues performance from Lee. He even smiled a bit. I was hoping for a saucy and playful glace to the camera, but he didn’t go there. He’s pretty serious and I get it, it’s hard to let it go. And he’s good. I like him and will keep rooting for him all the way to the finals.

Aaron Kelly “Blue Suede Shoes” – You know that I’m not a fan of his, but I do like how he used the stage and put on his teen swagger. He even shook his hips a bit (yeah, it was weird). I hate to admit this, but the kid did a good job. I hope the Disney channel will pick him up soon.

Siobhan “Suspicious Minds” – The girl has serious pipes, but I was hoping for something different. I thought it was too much like a ballad in the first part and then she screams at me in the second. Jen M. will you please work with this girl! She’s losing her ground and is at risk this week.

Big Mike “In the Ghetto” – That could be a Big Mike single. It was good, relevant and current. I wish he would have picked up the tempo just a bit, but I do love the song and Mike’s voice with it.

Katie Stevens “Baby What Do You Want Me To Do” – Katie in leather pants and lots of chains on her blouse and vest does not work for me. She’s too nice for all that business. It just turned it into too much of a show for me. Sassy=good. Performance and costume=too much. Good vocals. Good enough? I’m not so sure.

Casey James “Laudy Miss Claudy” – Casey is in the pocket with this kind of bluesy, home grown rock sound. I love it and I love him. Thank god he pulled his hair back this week just to show that he’s not all mousse and beautiful hair. The judges thought it was just too safe and not putting it all there, especially with Elvis week.

My favorite performances were Crystal and Big Mike. My least favorite were Andrew, Siobhan and Katie. I’m betting that Andrew and Katie go home and Siobhan rounds out the Bottom 3.

My favorite night for this season’s Top 9 – Lennon & McCartney. Randy was correct in his prediction of highs and lows, but the highs were predictable. Let’s start with the lows, however in the order of the performance.

Aaron “The Long and Winding Road” – Husband thinks that his stylist missed the marked with that double breasted jacket, plaid shirt and rolled sleeves. And what was with the back up vocalists above him? That was weird. I just think he missed the mark with the song…yes Ellen, it was long and winding. Is it bad to say that I’m happy that he just tripped up a bit? He is my least favorite contestant. I’m just not into the teen beat vibe

Katie “Let It Be” – I really liked her ponytail and the girl can sing, but I’m not loving the performance.

Andrew “Can’t Buy Me Love” – It was like a Vegas rendition of the song. He was also performing behind the judges on a mini stage, which if I was a judge I’d be pissed and verging on disrespected. It was mediocre.

Big Mike “Eleanor Rigby” – Okay, I’m still thinking a nice jazz club performance. It was good, better than the others before him, but I’m not as excited as the judges were (minus Simon, of course he really didn’t like it). Randy, why the plug for Glee? Paid placement?

Crystal Bowersox “Come Together” – the ONLY one who brings the soul so far. She rocked it and the didgeridoo (she didn’t play it, but I liked it). This was one of my favorite performances of hers.

Tim Urban “All My Lovin” – I hate to say that he did a good job. But he did. It was light and pretty, just like him.

Casey James “Jealous Guy” – I think Goldilocks was channeling Eddie Vedder. I thought it was an excellent slow version of the song that could be easily recordable. Not exciting and rockin, but heartfelt and sensitive. Just another way for the ladies to love him. Ellen said it, “he poured himself into the song” and Simon said it was the best performance of the night.

Siobhan “Across the Universe” – I hate her boots with her dresses. Sleepy performance, but she’s good. At least she didn’t scream at me this week.

Lee Dewyze “Hey Jude” – I cracked up with the bromance that he shares with his roommate, Andrew, and that Crystal joked about all the Danny Gokey babies they could have together. That was a LOL. He did a solid job with the song and even smiled a bit. The bagpipe during the chorus and “hey everyone sing it with me!” was the downfall. That was a led zeppelin. I still like him though.

Over all I found the show sleepy and soulless with the exception of Crystal, Casey and Lee. I wish we could just quickly just get rid of the rest of them and get on with the Top 3. I think I’m going to go out on a limb and say that Aaron will be the one to go home tomorrow. Rounding out the Bottom 3 will be Andrew and Tim.

Cheers!

Siobhan “Through the Fire” – sleepy for me, dawg. And the boots with the dress were strange, not cool, Randy. It’s okay to be odd and mismatched, but this was just off – the clothes choice and the song/category for her. I agree Kara, she’s allowed one. Stay strong Siobhan.

Casey “Hold On I’m Coming” – (ahem) There’s a lot of innuendo that I can be throwing around, but I won’t do that, being the classy girl that I am (yeah right). And oh, Casey, please just smile at the camera one more time. Please. Yes, Kara tell him, “show me everything you’ve got.” I’m a fan. I like what you’ve got <insert giggle here>. Keep going Casey, you’re in my Top 3. P.S. I love that he’s so much taller than Ryan Seacrest.

Big Mike “Ready for Love” – The dude is in tune with his ladies. I like that he works it, but I’m not going all the way with him. There’s something still cheesy about Mike for me. I think he’s good and solid, but I still think classy jazz club at a top hotel, not for a recording audience. I guess the judges and I disagree tonight.

DiDi Benami “What Becomes of the Broken Hearted” – She freaked out on Usher. Ok. Well they got that on tape. Not so good when last week the knee-high boots came out with “You’re No Good” and the week before she sang “Play With Fire.” I think she’s becoming America Idol’s JenJL’s Single White Female character and somewhat Scary Idol. Which is funny and darkly cool all the same. Psycho. <insert maniacal laugh here>

Tim Urban “Sweet Love” – “Singing Waiter,” “Pedestrian” and “Adorable” are so the words for Sweet Tim. Yes, Jen M. “Broadway” is not correctly used. Vegas, maybe. Really low class part of a very big casino. Okay. Yeah, he needs to go and will definitely be in the Bottom 3. Again.

Andrew Garcia “Forever” – Nice. I liked it. However, I still think that he needs to get off his meds and connect outward. A friend of mine purports that it’s a cultural thing, but I keep saying “he’s on American Idol and he needs to make it happen or he’s going home!” A good step in the right direction. But, Mama Garcia, please set down (tho I like the Spanish) on AI

Katie Stevens “Chain of Fools” – Five long years would make her 12. So I don’t know about the song choice, but okay, if I bought the hairdo and big earrings, I’m still not wildly compelled. She’s got a great voice, but I’m not buying what she’s selling. I think she’s going to be in the Bottom 3 again. Will she go before Tim? I hope not.

Lee Dewyze “Treat Her Like a Lady” – Loved it. Recordable. He even smiled a bit during the performance. He’s starting to get the swing of things. Go Lee Go! He’s not in my early declared Top 3, but I’m really pulling for him now.

Crystal Bowersox “Midnight Train to Georgia” – the girl has skills straight out. She’s above and beyond the television show and I just want her to sign on the bottom line and get her contract. She’s got something special. And she’s so real. Which is what I love about her. I’m aiming for her as the winner. Go Crystal Go! Please be well, sister.

Aaron “Ain’t No Sunshine” – I just don’t go for teen phenoms. He makes me feel like a young sell out. Typically, he has good vocals, but this night it wasn’t all 10s. Whatever. He’ll still be around for a while, but I don’t like it.

We’re mixing up the points this week for my Idol Watcher group. I think the Bottom 3 this week will be 1 (going home) psycho girl Didi, 2 (next on the block) Tim, 3 (first to sit down) Katie Stevens. How boring is this season? So boring. I’m hearing Taylor Hicks in some bar off somewhere in middle America. Ugh. Lee, Casey and Crystal come save us.

In the Miley introduction clip I don’t think it was mentioned how many hits she’s ever had on the Billboard Top 100.

Tuesday’s show was about the Billboard weekly Hot 100 with Miley Cyrus as this week’s mentor. In the Miley introduction clip I don’t think it was mentioned how many hits she’s ever had on the Billboard Top 100. I get it; world wide sensation, hit TV show and a popular movie, but she has a pre-teen audience. So she’s really not that hot. I found Miley as a mentor a bit odd, especially this week with all the older song choices. But whatever, she must have a movie coming out or something. This week’s competition is getting steep because the Top 10 will be going on tour so you think that they would really bring it (as they should every week). However, I just feel like this episode is showing the bottom feeders of the pool. It’s a slow and draining process. Husband also noted that the Billboard Hot 100 should be on the Idiot’s List. You should have a number of choices prepared and ready to go. Like those bottom feeder fish, tonight’s show simply sucked.

Lee Dewyze “The Letter” – It looked like he was loosening up a bit, having fun and what was that? Did he even smile? He’s got such a great voice I don’t know how anyone could not like him. I thought he did a great job and a nice start to the show.

Paige “Against All Odds” – Yes, it would be against the odds if she stayed this week. That had to be the worst performance ever on Idol by a top contestant. She needs to be gone. Flat out.

Tim Urban “Crazy Little Thing Called Love” – Miley just thought he was cute. She just had to hug him during their feedback session. Ahhh….too bad they are both in Promise Keepers. I kinda squirmed when he was surrounded in the audience by all those girls. That was weird. Other than that he didn’t suck, but it wasn’t recordable and pretty corny. Tim was definitely hitting the Miley teen audience though. Tim’s lucky he’s still around. He may be in the bottom 3 again this week, but the writing is on the wall.

Aaron Kelly “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing” – Ugh. He’s my least favorite contestant and he’s got a boner over Miley. Ugh. What were those floating things on the video screen behind him? They were distracting. Other than that and the boner thing, he can sing and the girls in the audience were swaying the arms (also distracting), but I just don’t like that teen demographic. I’ve got a five year old and I don’t want to think about that crap yet. Ugh. Sadly for me, Simon thinks he’ll be around for a while.

Crystal Bowersox “Bobby McGee” – Crystal is such a natural talent and full of grace. I’m still disturbed to see her sitting in all the group photos. I hope that whatever health issues she’s facing that she is moving through it. I keep her in my prayers because I’d like to see her all the way through the competition. Of course, she preformed really well. She’s in a class outside of Idol.

Big Mike “When a Man Loves a Woman” – He’s all personality with good vocal chops. I’m still thinking nice jazz club on a dress up date night. Good times, but not all that American Idol has to offer.

Andrew Garcia “I Heard It Through the Grapevine” – Not the best singer, but the guy has something. I’m not quite sure what that is yet. But it’s there. I love that the funky bass was next to him on stage because he is that kind of a guy. I feel like he’s pulled back on his meds a bit this week and offered a little more excitement than usual. The judges didn’t go for it, but he’s still in it for another week. He should be in the bottom three, but others suck worse, so he’ll be hanging in for a while.

Katie “Big Girls Don’t Cry” – Thank god someone picked a song that is current and relevant to who she is. I thought it was a bit pitchy in the beginning, but she didn’t suck. She has hope to rise above the bottom feeders. I like Ellen’s comment about being the Dakota Fanning of Idol.

Casey James “The Power of Love” – Husband was cracking up because I am a closet Huey Lewis fan. Oh I’m smitten yet again with Casey. Was he signing a bit to Kara? I’m curious and even a bit jealous. I thought it was a good performance. Not the best, but certainly good.

DiDi Benami “You’re No Good” – I know how a woman can transform their attitude with over the knee boots and that certainly helped DiDi this week. Since last week’s performance she’s shown her darker side and it works for me. She’s good and will be around for a while. The judges felt that it was off, but over here in my living room it was okay for me.

Siobhan “Superstition” – A great wedding performance of the song. It didn’t rock my world, but she’s good and fun to watch. I always root for people that are learning to be comfortable in their own quirky skin and if it’s Miley Cyrus that helps her feel better about herself, well so be it.

Watching back the replay for the contestants, I didn’t pick up the phone for anyone. No one really captured my attention and motivated me enough…for goodness sakes I had too much wine while watching that mess. I found it a bit sleepy with all the old songs and yet I was still awake. Close to a car wreck. Maybe Miley had something to do with it. I don’t know. I’m voting for Paige to go home this week. More Idol and wine, anyone? Cheers!
